ABU DHABI
Capital of the United Arab Emirates and largest of the seven emirates. Little brother to Dubai, in terms of tourism, although its city skyline is still extremely impressive and its rich oil reserves have turned what was once just a small fishing village into a wealthy and sophisticated business and leisure destination. There are plenty of things to see and do here - that's if you can tear yourself away from your sun-lounger! Explore ancient forts and lush oases, or head for the modern shopping malls and take advantage of fantastic duty-free prices. Feeling more active?
